Students selected for All-District Bands

Five students from Nelson County High School, four from Old Kentucky Home Middle School and three from Bloomfield Middle School have earned seats in the Fourth District Band Director's Association All-District Bands.

The high school All-District Band presented a concert on Jan. 23 at John Hardin High School, Elizabethtown. The middle school students will be in concert Saturday, Jan. 30 at Meade County High School, Brandenburg. Those selected auditioned among numerous students from the 11-county Fourth District to earn seats with the All-District Band.



NCHS band members

Five Nelson County High School band members earned places with
the Fourth District Band Director’s Association All-District Band.
NCHS all-district band members include (left to right) Shelby, clarinet;
Jacob, drums; Damon, trumpet; Matt, tuba; and Chasity, clarinet.
The All-District Band has two divisions: concert and symphonic.
Matt received third chair tuba with the concert band, while Shelby,
Jacob, Damon and Chasity were selected to the symphonic band.



BMS students

Three Bloomfield Middle School students – flute player Spencer, left;
along with Zac, bass clarinet; and Nathan, alto sax – have been
selected to participate in the Fourth District Band Director’s
Association All-District Band. Nathan, a seventh-grader, earned
a seat with the all-district concert band. Spencer and Zac are in
eighth grade and earned seats with the symphonic band. The
Middle School All-District Band will have rehearsals on Jan. 29
and 30, and will perform a concert, Jan. 30 at Meade County
High School.



OKHMS students

Four Old Kentucky Home Middle School students have been selected
to participate in the Fourth District Band Director’s Association
All-District Band. These students are (front) Xena, clarinet; (back,
left to right) Olivia, clarinet; Morgan, French horn; and Jamie,
clarinet. All the OKH students were selected to be part of the
symphonic band. The All-District Middle School Band will have
rehearsals on Jan, 29 and 30, and will perform a concert, Jan. 30
at Meade County High School.
